Volunteer Interpreters & Translators

BACKGROUND

Our Interpreter & Translator Program is made up of community members who volunteer to use their language skills to help Newcomers to Canada communicate when English is a language barrier.  They assist with understanding spoken and/or written communication between Newcomers and our organization, or with other organizations in Moose Jaw.

HOW TO JOIN

We are always happy to add more interpreters/translators to the list, and we provide training to those who join the program.  Interpreters/translators are required to complete a registration application, and submit a clear Criminal Record Check. If you are interested in registering with us, please call 306-693-4677 or email reception@mjmcinc.ca.

INTERPRETERS/TRANSLATORS LIST

** PLEASE NOTE**  Interpreters/translators are members of the community who have volunteered to have their names added to this list; they are not employees of the Moose Jaw Multicultural Council (MJMC).  Depending on the assistance that you require, some may charge a fee for services and some may not.  Fees charged are at the discretion of the interpreter/translator and can be negotiated between you and them if necessary. If the interpreter/translator is going to charge for their services, you and/or your organization will be responsible for paying the fee.  MJMC will not pay for services unless otherwise arranged with management.

Please contact the office at (306) 693-4677 to ask for our Interpreters/Translators List.
