Language Assessments

To be eligible to register for any of our English language classes you must have a language assessment completed by a certified language assessor within the last 12 months.  For more information or to schedule an assessment please call 306-693-4677 if you are a permanent resident, or 306-692-6892 if you are a temporary resident, provincial nominee or new Canadian citizen (under 10 years of citizenship).

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) 

MJMC offers 6 part-time English language classes for permanent residents to Canada. Daytime classes run Monday-Friday and are half days at the following times and Canadian Language Benchmarks:

  • Morning Classes 9 AM - 11:30 AM
    • CLB 1/1L
    • CLB 3/3L
    • CLB 4/4L
  • Afternoon Classes 12:30 PM - 3 PM
    • CLB FL
    • CLB 2/2L
    • CLB 5/6

Permanant residents are also eligible for the evening language classes listed below. For more information or to register please call 306-693-4677.  Free childcare is provided for students enrolled in the part-time evening classes only.

Stage 1 & 2 Language Instruction

MJMC offers part-time evening language classes for newcomers to Canada, which run twice weekly at the following times and levels: 

  • Beginner Class (Pre-benchmark - CLB 2) 
    • Monday and Wednesday 7 PM-9 PM
  • Intermediate Class (CLB 3/3L) 
    • Monday and Wednesday 7 PM-9 PM
  • Upper-Intermediate Class (CLB 4) 
    • Tuesday and Thursday 7 PM-9 PM
  • Advanced Class (CLB 5-6)
    • Tuesday and Thursday 7 PM-9 PM

Spanish Classes (Conversational)

The 12-week Beginner classes are typically offered in the fall of each year. They are held in our main offices located at 60 Athabasca Street East (on the side of St. Andrews Church). The course is geared toward individuals looking to pick up basic, essential conversational skills that will aid them while travelling in Spanish language countries.
