Prarie Skies Integration Network is organizing their annual Anti-Racism Rally and Community Conversation on March 21st from 10am-4pm.

March 21st marks the annual International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. On this day, citizens of the world come together to remember the police attacks of 1960 that took place in Sharpeville, South Africa and killed 69 people who were peacefully protesting the apartheid laws in place in the country. This tragic event was what pushed for members of the UN General Assembly to pass resolution 2142 (XXI), proclaiming March 21st as a day of awareness for racial discrimination.

In Canada, many people are still victims of acts of racial discrimination every day. There are many ways we can advocate against racial injustice and xenophobia. Through education and active participation in anti-racist rallies and discussions, we can spread awareness of this cause and work together to come up with solutions. So mark your calendars for this upcoming event with PSIN. We hope to see you there!
